David Higginson is a fine art photographer whose passion lies in capturing the beauty of nature and architecture through his lens. His landscape images intriguingly convey a sense of calm and tranquility, while his architectural photos highlight the unique characteristics and history of each structure.

David Higginson has had a passion for photography since the early 1970’s while in high school. As part of the photo-journalism team, he had the privilege of taking photos of numerous campus and sports activities. This carried him into junior college where he took photography classes and photographed many of the buildings on campus, which are still displayed to this day.

As a licensed architect in California and six other states, he loves photographing the built environment. Since architecture relates well to the natural environment, many of his photographs capture those elements as well.

Most of David’s work consists of black and white photography. It is a timeless and raw form of photography transcending back to the founding of capturing images on film. It allows the viewer to view details rather than be overwhelmed by color, which can sometimes be distracting. Black and white also gives a sense of history and nostalgia and images can be used in a variety of venues and background wall textures.
